Book Themed Baby Shower

I went to the C-U-T-E-S-T baby shower a couple of weekends ago and I just HAD to share on the blog. The shower was hosted by my SIL & MIL and I just loved it. But of course, I love books, so that was a given. 

How stinkin' creative was that?! SO cute.

I managed to sum up every ounce of creativity I could find and make a hair bow wreath for the sweet baby!

 And yes. I made every bow.

And yes. It took me two days.

And yes. I will be forever buying Kenzie pre-made hairbows lol.

But I loved the way it turned out. We hung it on the front door as decor, but of course the Mama-to-be got to take them all home:)

I also made the SWEETEST little baby tutu in the world. Along with a matching hair bow and a monogrammed onesie from Stitches & Splinters.

I. Die.

Almost makes me want to have another baby.

The Pinterest Link-Up {#1}

So......I'm a horrible blog friend and forgot about The Pinterest Link-Up!

Well, I didn't forget, I just didn't realize it was already time! 

So I am just linking up a previous DIY project that I did about a year ago.

{DIY Purse Hanger}

This was my semi-first diy project! I saw this on Pinterest first and I just HAD to make one. And because I love anything Mason Jars. This was also a “mini” date night project with the hubbs. He helped me! Go Dougie!

What I used:
-a board. (ours was an old shelf that we found). It can really be any size you want it to be, just make sure it’s thick enough to screw on the hangers.
-a wire clamp (one to fit the size jar you will use)
-spray paint (one for base color, one for stencil)
-stencil of your choice
-3 hangers
-2 decorative hooks (to hang with)
-a jar of your choice. I used a mason jar.
-something pretty to put in the jar (I’m using fake flowers for now lol)

All in all, it was pretty simple. BUT, I’m a little slow and didn’t think before I painted with the stencils. I should have sponged the paint on….not spray paint. Eh, you gotta learn right?

So it has a sort of “distressed” look to it…not on purpose lol. But it will work for now.

I chose turquoise and red because that will be the accent colors of my kitchen. It’s a rental house (in the family) and they don’t want us to paint the real wood that’s in the kitchen and dining room.

So I will just have to work around that and use lots of prettiness to cover it up haha! (I hate wood…unless it’s in a cabin of course. But we live in no cabin.)

Tomorrow I will be working on the kids’ growth charts! It will be my first time using Mod Podge. I’m excited!!

And also, sorry for the sucky pictures...my camera is going whack. Time to get a new one!! :)
