Weekend Wrap-up [tons of pics]

I know, I know....it's Tuesday.

But better late than never, right?!

This weekend was super busy.

Friday night, Dougie and I went on a DATE!! An actual "no kids around" date! I even wore a dress! I know....get out. But for real, it was so nice to be able to spend time with him alone. We went out to eat at a local restaurant, searched the menu for 15 minutes, and ordered the same thing we always get there; a roast beef melt & fries for him and a turkey melt & fries for me:) SO good.

Then we went to see House At The End of the Street starring Jennifer Lawrance! LOVE her. It was a pretty decent movie. It wasn't what I was expecting either.

***I'm so bad. I didn't take any pictures of our date night.***

Saturday we went to our best friends' twins' birthday party at the park!
Ya'll...this was the cutest little party!
The theme was Disney Cars.

My best friend hand painted these boxes to resemble all the cars from the movie! Kenzie was Sally and Tucker was Tow-Mater! It was adorbs. They also did a little race!

I mean seriously. How cute is that?! And I love how "Tow-Mater" is backwards. Way to go son. LOL!

Kenzie won a trophy for the race!! She was on top of the world. Birthday party trophy = Olympic Gold Medal in a 4 year old's eyes. :)

She also had the cutest activities: throwing bean bags into tires and Ramone's tattoo station!

This is why we are best friends. :)

Cars straws!

The kids had a blast playing at the park, too.

My little monkeys! I couldn't believe how well Tucker could climb those bars.

After the party, we went to visit Doug's grandmother in the nursing home. Kenzie was a cool cat, as usual.

Then we went to a couple's shower for my sister-in-law that night. Tucker slept through the entire thing (thank goodness) and Kenzie helped Tara with the games.

We played the Newlywed game.
Doug and I lost.
Eh.

Sunday was my sister-in-law's last wedding shower.
Me and Bethany (the bride-to-be)
I made cookie dough dip because it tastes like heaven.
We played games, like this one where we had the bride to be blindfolded and put on her "wedding night attire".
Hilarious
It was a great turn out and everyone had a good time.

It was an exciting, fun-filled weekend and I'm so blessed to have such great family and friends to have spent it with!

My Anniversary + what I bought.

Yesterday was my four year anniversary.
FOUR YEARS.

It feels like it was last week when we got married.

We have been through a lot together. We've stuck by each other. And we've pissed each other off. A lot.
We don't have a perfect relationship. No one does. But I think that's what keeps us going.
Without the struggles we've been through, we wouldn't appreciate the things we have.
Doug is my #1 supporter.
He always has my back and is so supportive of any idea I have.
He keeps me motivated with my school work because we both know, my degree will be the best thing that ever happened to us.
He is my best friend, who I occasionally just want to punch in the face. But I can't. Because he always makes me laugh when I just want to be mad.

Four years, two kids, four houses, three vehicles, 10+ pets, and several jobs later, we have been through it all.

I love Doug because we are the happiest when we are being goofy.

Tonight we are celebrating our anniversary with dinner and a movie. It's been awhile since it was just the two of us at a restaurant lol.

On a completely unrelated note, I just ordered this case on Amazon and I'm in love!

I tried to order like 12 cases, but Douglas wouldn't allow that.... *sad face*

AND
I'm getting these beauties from Target:
Women's Mossimo® Calidora Flat - Leopard Print
along with some boot socks and a cardigan.
Can you tell I really love Fall clothes?! :)
And I really love shopping. It makes me happy.
Especially when I get to use gift cards! Woop woop!

I hope everyone has a fabulous Friday!

Thankful Thursday

Today, I am thankful that it's almost Friday.

I am thankful for this BEAUTIFUL weather!

...for the usual; my kids, my home, my husband, ect.

...Coffee. I couldn't function without it.

...my family.

...my best friend, Raven. Even when we test each other's nerves, we do it respectively and still love each other when it's all said and done lol :)

...my ability to learn music quickly. I think it's in my genes though.

...Pinterest. Because I officially know there are other people out there who hate Justin Beiber & Nickleback, can relate almost everything in life to Harry Potter, and are just as addicted to reading & coffee as I am.

Is it Fall Break yet?

Since my life is completely overwhelmed with school, nothing, I repeat...NOTHING exciting has happened in my life for about 2 months now.
When nothing exciting happens, I have nothing to blog about.
I'm not the "I have to post everyday or I will die" type blogger.

Since it's Friday, I'm going to post about things I need in my closet. So I can take my mind off of College Algebra and Sociology.

Hurray for cooler weather! Even if it's still not as crisp as I would like, I will pick 80 degrees over 90 anyday. Ever. I hate summer weather. Unless I am neck deep in some type of water for the majority of the day.

*sigh*
Fall clothes are the best.
Can I get an Amen?!

Also, I've had my eye on this purse from Target.
Yay or nay?
I rarely buy purses. Like seriously, I get one purse a year. Nobody needs a bazillion purses. And nobody needs to pay $100 for a purse.
Negative.
That shiz is not necessary.

Also, THIS website for shoes. Amazing. Boots under $40?! Heaven.

You know what today means right?

FOOTBALL TIME!!

Can I get a "Go Big Orange!"?
Yes. Yes I can.
SAY IT!
Rocky Top Tennessee... My home.
Just kidding. You don't have to if you don't want to.
But you should want to.

We may not be winners all the time, but we have more spirit than any other SEC team!

Let's Go Tennessee Vols!

Yes they do! It's almost football time in Tennessee!

Football time at our house means:
Friends and family over every Saturday.
Grilling out and football food.
Ice cold beer.
Yelling at the tv screen.
Gearing up in ORANGE!

You better believe I've got my orange nail polish ready!

Who are you cheering for?

August 28, 2012

Oh, hi again!

Ya'll. I don't know what has been wrong with me.
I don't want to blog.
I barely want to read other blogs.
I mostly just want to sleep.
And I'm craving cherries. I don't even like cherries. But I saw Jenna on Pretty Little Liars eating cherries and decided I wanted some.

If I didn't have my tubes tied, I would swear up and down I was pregnant.
But that's crazy talk.
I'm just a worn out mom/student/house cleaner/cook/chauffeur.

Life as of lately?
Well, Kenzie has been loving school. I love hearing about her day when I pick her up! Today she had her first cheer practice! Awww! She has shown me her two cheers and her jump she learned. Her little cheer group is going to be performing at our local High School Homecoming game during half time! How exciting!!
I started my classes for Fall semester. I have two classes on campus and two online. So far I'm loving it. For my English class, we are going to be discussing The Hunger Games! EEEEP! Pretty sure I'm gonna pass that one. ;)

We've been spending more time doing family stuff. It's hard to do things together when Doug works all the time, but I'm thankful for his job so I don't want to complain.
Last weekend we took the kids to the park. We had never been to this one before, and it was actually really nice!

Oh, Doug and I started back on eating healthy again. Counting calories; walking. All that fun stuff. We walked a little bit tonight before the sun went down. It was actually nice. So wish us luck on our journey to getting healthy and losing weight....again. LOL!
