Weekends are never long enough.

This weekend was jam packed with stuff to do.

And I'm not even being sarcastic this time!

Saturday was soccer, of course.

It was her last game of the Spring :( I'm ready for the Fall to watch her play again!

Oh, and I gave Tucker my iPhone to entertain him during Kenzie's game....he took lots of pictures.

 

Hey, he's not so bad for a two year old.

After the game I took the kids to McDonald's for a healthy and nutritious lunch.

haha

Then we came home and I got to cooking for dinner.

We had grilled steaks, baked potatoes, homemade mac-n-cheese, and rolls. Oh yeah.

I also made this beauty of a dessert.

It's Strawberry & Yogurt bundt cake and it's heaven.

I'll have the recipe on here soon.

Believe me. You will want to have it.

I say *wink wink* because I drank the whole bottle of wine. Ooops.

Sunday was yard work day. Blah.

At least it wasn't a million degrees outside! 

AND I managed to get some much needed sun on my arms.

Even though I despise yard work, I always feel so accomplished after it's done.

And in case you were wondering, it took us from 8:45am to 2pm to get everything done.

Yeah.

Now you know why I don't look forward to doing yard work.

These are a few things I've added to my Summer Wishlist.

Because in Tennessee, you don't really get a Spring. You just hop right on over from winter with 30 degree weather to 70 degree weather and then 100+ degree weather.

So summer will be here before I know it! (Like next week).

Things are green again.

I thought we were going to have winter forever around here. I'm ready to start complaining about how hot it is outside. 

Reasons I love Spring weather:

#1. The weather. Obvs.

Dobby agrees. This weather is great for exploring.

That time I took a break forever.

Remember when I said I was back like two weeks ago? I lied. Not on purpose, but it just happened that way. I needed this break from the blogging world (and some of the social media world) more than I thought. It's always good to take a break to get a perspective on things. Fun in the Tub

The other night, Kenzie went to a play with the in-laws so it was just me, Doug, and Tucker at home. We decided to let Tucker do something a little out of the ordinary since Kenzie got to do something else. So I browsed my Pinterest board for the kids and found the idea to do colored shaving cream in the tub! And what two year old boy doesn't like to get a little messy?

He had a blast.

(Note: we only put him in underwear for picture purposes, or he would've been butt nakey.)

All we did was put the super cheap shaving cream in a tin muffin pan and added food coloring. We let him use a basting brush but he used his fingers a lot, too. Boom. A free "out of the box" activity to keep your kid entertained.

He even started to paint himself!

He loved it.

And it washed right off in the shower!!!

Life as of lately.

Hello? Is anyone still here?

That's probably what ya'll were thinking, huh?

I haven't blogged because I've been on an extravagant vacation to the Bahamas so I haven't had time to blog.

Just kidding.

I've been at home. Doing absolutely nothing out of the ordinary.

I'm back to school after Spring Break (which was MUCH needed). And I decided to take a break from blogging/social media for a few reasons. One being my husband's Granny past away last week so we spent a lot of time out of town and with family. Secondly, a lot of bloggers have just been irking me lately. I just don't get these "sponsored" posts, the millions of giveaways each week, or how in the world some of these people have TIME to chat on Twitter all. day. long. I just don't get it.

But you know what? This "mini" break I took for myself, was great. It was refreshing. And it allowed me to realize WHY I blog. I don't do it for stupid sponsored posts that have NOTHING to do with my blog. I don't do it for publicity so people can feel sorry for me/be envious of me/make money. I don't do it for a different (or the same) linkup every freakin' day. I blog for me. I blog because it's what I like to do. I blog when I have something to share or talk about. I don't just pull posts out of my ass just to get a post out. And I'm tired of blog cliques.

I want people to follow my blog because they like what I write about.

Also, I'm very sorry to any of my "sponsors" who I've neglected this month. I'm horrible at this blogging thing when it comes to other people lol. I'm gonna give up paid sponsorship on my blog but I will still offer button swaps.

Oh, that's another thing!! I've never actually paid for sponsorship on other blogs because I've been lucky enough to win ad space. But Lord have mercy. I'm glad I got those spaces for FREE because I STILL have to pay/donate shit stuff for freakin' giveaways on their blog! Bloggers, please. I'm broke as a joke. (side note: SOME bloggers are understandable)

So with all that said, be looking out for a new blog design, and possibly a new url. And a whole new outlook on blogland:)
